PEARLAND, TX – Authorities say three adults and two children were shot at a flea market in Pearland after what they describe as an argument between two people that led to gunfire.

According to Chad Rogers, public information officer for the Pearland Police Department, the shooting happened at Cole’s Flea Market in the 1000 block of N. Main Street around 5:34 p.m.

Rogers said there were a total of five victims. Two of the victims are believed to be minors. Rogers did not have an exact age for the victims.

All injured people were transported to area hospitals. Their condition at this time is unknown.

Rogers said there was an argument between two people and it resulted in shots being fired.

“I don’t know if they both had guns, if one person had guns, I don’t know the number of shots that were fired, but it appears that these are two subjects that were involved in a disturbance and that’s what resulted in the shooting,” Rogers said.

He said the shooting does not appear to be a targeted attack on the flea market.

Rogers said at this time no one is in custody. They are asking if anyone has seen anything to call their tip line at 281-997-5828.

“If you saw or heard something and need to let us know, please call this number and assist our investigators,” Rogers said.

The Houston Police Department and Harris County Precinct 2 officers are assisting Pearland Police in their response.

Rogers said investigators are interviewing witnesses to try to get more information about the shooting.

“It’s not something that happens in Pearland, it’s extremely tragic any time someone is a victim of gun violence, especially in our community, it doesn’t happen here in Pearland,” he said. -he declares.

Police said it was still an active scene and asked the public to stay away from the area.

Police said Highway 35 was closed from Knapp Road to Beltway 8 as officers continued their investigation.
