The Lost Caverns of Ixalan: the most expensive cards
#1: Cave of Souls (without borders)
An incredible mana fixer for typical decks using multiple colors. Cavern of Souls debuted in Avacyn Restored and has seen a small handful of reprints since. Always useful, the standard Ixalan variant of Cavern of Souls will certainly remain among the most valuable cards in the expansion.

#2: Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation
One of the first cards revealed for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, Ojer Taq is one of the gods of the plane. An incredible token tripler like MTG has never seen, Ojer Taq improves one of the key white mana strategies to a frightening degree.
The overwhelming board power and creature token synergy are the cause of Ojer Taq’s high price, and it will likely stick alongside other expensive token boosters Mondrak, Glory Dominus, and Anointed Procession.

#3: Chimil, the inner sun
Another true icon of Ixalan, Chimil brings life and light to the heart of Ixalan. This card is expensive both in terms of mana and actual price, but it is arguably worth the cost.

Preventing your spells from being countered allows many of your most powerful plays to proceed unhindered. Just keep in mind that Chimil’s initial cast itself can be counted, stopping you if you’re not wary of the takedown.

4: The Elder (Showcase)
It’s no surprise that MTG’s new, most powerful two-mana card is high on this list. With plenty going for it, including infinite mill potential and absurd stats for its cost, The Ancient One’s few limitations are worth working around.

5: Resplendent angel (without border)
A special guest reprint that really packs a punch, Resplendent Angel’s new Ixalan illustration sets it apart from previous printings.
Still a useful card for typical lifelink and angel strategies, Resplendent Angel has flying, generates tokens through lifegain, and can increase its stats for an additional cost. Such a versatile creature deserves its place on this list, although time will tell if other Special Guest prints will claim its place.
