BTS’ Golden Maknae continues to shine. Thursday, November 9, Jung Kook took the stage at TSX Entertainment in New York for a surprise performance of several songs from his brand new solo album, Golden.

Times Square’s first permanent stage, the TSX Stage saw electrifying performances of Golden the singles “Seven” (featuring Latto) and “3D” (featuring Jack Harlow), both of which reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, the former peaking at No. 1. During his performance of “3D”, Jung Kook delivered his entire rap verse and interacted with the crowd while the track played Harlow’s guest verse. The BTS star performed the full choreography to “Seven” and “3D,” as well as “Standing Next to You,” which was recently the subject of a Michael Jackson-inspired music video. While going through “Standing Next to You,” Jung Kook took a moment to pause and listen to the crowd going wild for him.

Non-New York fans were able to watch the free event on the Xbox Twitch channel. “ARMY, please don’t change,” he urged the crowd, addressing those in person and those tuning in online around the world. These same fans were a driving force behind the massive success of The golden ones singles – particularly “Seven,” which recently became the fastest song to reach one billion streams in Spotify history. Golden also features production and writing contributions from Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes.

“We are honored to co-create this historic moment for Jung Kook and the entire BTS group. His solo journey has already made history with several chart-topping singles, and we are fully confident that this album will continue the trend,” said Nick Holmsten, co-CEO of TSX Entertainment, in a statement. “This marks a pivotal moment in music, especially for K-pop fans, and holds great significance both for Times Square and for the city of New York.”
