Netflix has debuted an explosive new trailer for Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire,” set for a limited one-week theatrical release on December 15 and a wide streaming release on Netflix on the 22nd. December.
Snyder’s epic space adventure film stars Sofia Boutella, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman and Cary Elwes. The story centers on a young woman living on the outskirts of a galaxy who must find a group of warriors to save the galaxy from an invasion by a tyrant. Snyder revealed to Total Film that “Rebel Moon” takes place in the same universe as another of his Netflix films, “Army of the Dead,” although one takes place in space and the other in space. apocalyptic Las Vegas.
“‘Army of the Dead’ has a pretty expansive mythology that never made it into the film,” he told Total Film. “There’s actually a ‘Rebel Moon’ character in the ‘Army of the Dead’ animated series that we never did.”
Snyder initially wrote a 172-page screenplay for “Rebel Moon,” which he thought would result in a film lasting more than three hours. Netflix and Snyder therefore agreed to cut the film into two parts. Snyder also shared that each part of “Rebel Moon” will have a director available, aimed at adults only.
“I think for my fans and people who are willing to dive deeper and harder, it will be fun for them,” Snyder told Vanity Fair.
Before being released on Netflix, “Rebel Moon” will be screened in cinemas in the following cities: Los Angeles (Egyptian Theatre), New York (Paris Theatre), Toronto (TIFF Bell Lightbox) and London (Prince Charles Cinema). Netflix owns the Théâtre de Paris and the Egyptian Theatre.
